Hit-Boy feat. KiD CuDi, ”Old School Caddy”
Throwback Sunday: CeCe Peniston, “Keep On Walkin’”
I’ve recently re-discovered this song on DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie’s Summertime III, which is one of my favorite mixtape series of all-time. This is a perfect theme song to a Sunday in NYC.
“Black Girls,” Chester French’s honest and bold new single, meets a stunning video by acclaimed fashion photographer Francesco Carrozzini. The video stars the multi-talented Rie Rasmussen and Jodie Smith, who bring life to the band’s unabashed, hard-hitting celebration of feminine beauty and interracial love.”
I really loved Chester French’s first mixtape and album. I listened to it a lot as a freshman. It’s great to see them back to making music again.
Also, fun fact: the band’s name is derived from Daniel Chester French, a famous sculptor who designed the John Harvard Monument at Harvard and Alma Mater (my favorite) at Columbia.
I’ve got a thing for Black girls, too.
